Ticket to Work Training and Support for Maine Employment Networks
Initial Outreach and Planning Call
December 4, 2009
1:30 - 3:00 pm ET
Maine's Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS), the CHOICES CEO project, and the Muskie Institute are planning a series of training and support events for current and prospective Employment Networks (ENs) in Maine. An initial teleconference to identify training needs and resources will be held December 4.
In addition to the partners named above, other invited participants include Joel Middleton, Account Manager, CESSI; John Coburn, Health and Disability Advocates (HDA, based in Chicago); and the National Employment Network Association (NENA).
Call-in information will be sent out later. To register, go here.
Teleconference objectives:
- Provide a very brief overview of the Ticket to Work Program
in Maine
- Announce plans for training and other technical support for current and prospective Employment Networks in Maine
- Identify and discuss what information and support would help Maine agencies to apply for and succeed as an EN
- Identify next steps that will lead to more in-depth EN training, and other technical assistance tools, early in 2010
Who Should Participate in the Teleconference?
- Agency Directors and other Management who need to decide if and how the Ticket fits with the need and direction of your agency
- Agency Operational Staff who need to decide if and how the Ticket would serve current and future clients, and fit within other operations of the agency
- Advocates and Others who need to find alternative revenue and resources that help workers with disabilities increase employment outcomes
