Maine's CHOICES CEO Project
Maine State Government joins Working Together business network
On October 15, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Cabinet Room (2nd floor) of the
Maine State House in Augusta, Governor John Baldacci held
a meeting with key Working Together business partners where
he announced that Maine State Government would formally join
the group.
The Governor then made it official by signing the Working Together
'pledge' which states:
I certify that Maine State Government commits to the following best employment practices to further the employment of people with disabilities:
- A commitment to employ individuals with disabilities
- A commitment to creating a corporate environment that is disability friendly
- A commitment to a recruiting and hiring process that encourages people with disabilities to apply for posted positions
Working Together is a coalition of Maine businesses and organizations seeking to expand the employment of people with disabilities. Members believe doing so will benefit their businesses and the economic future of Maine. The group's message is simple: Employing people with disabilities makes good business sense! Partners are realizing their message through marketing, research, education, outreach and by example. Visit www.ExpandingMainesWorkforce.com for more information.
