You are invited to an exciting upcoming event in Southern Maine!
During the first three weeks of October 2009, a collaboration of agencies are organizing Disability Mentoring Day 2009 (DMD 2009), a national program devoted to career awareness and activities for youth and young adults with disabilities. DMD is a way of meeting your local employers through job shadows in areas of work you are interested in. This event is no cost to Mentees who sign up.
After folks have had their job shadows we plan on meeting at venues (TBD) on Wednesday October 21st 2009, so:

Choose a Mentor and Become a Mentee
During the first three weeks of October 2009 you’ll be matched with a “mentor”. Your chosen “mentor” will be someone who holds a job that you would like to know more about. You’ll be the “mentee,” learning about your mentor’s work.
You’ll learn the skills, abilities and education needed for your mentor’s job, a typical workday, etc. Your mentor will show you what it’s like to work in his/her field! Awesome!! To learn more about DMD go to: http://choices.muskie.usm.maine.edu/dmd/

Mentees will be registered on a first come, first serve basis. Send your initial reservation or call now! Do not miss this day to explore your career with a mentor! After we receive your initial reservation, you’ll be sent additional information.
